Technical Sales Engineer

Position: Technical Sales Engineer
Location: Stanmore, Middlesex
Salary: 30,000 - 40,000 + bonus DOE
Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Our client our a specialist supplier of bespoke Manufacturing machinery into production and FMCG environments. As a small, growing business, they are looking to expand their sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a Manufacturing or Engineering background to develop their technical knowledge, build customer relationships and grow within a developing business.
The role would suit an engineer looking to move into technical sales, or someone with existing technical sales experience.
Technical Sales Engineer Position Overview

• Develop a strong understanding of the company's machinery and technical product range.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers and suppliers by telephone and email.
• Diagnose technical problems and recommend suitable solutions.
• Demonstrate and commission machinery for existing and prospective customers.
• Present equipment to clients in the company showroom.
• Diagnose and resolve machinery faults where required.
• Explain technical specifications and product benefits to customers.
• Generate leads and identify new business opportunities.
• Negotiate pricing and develop long-term customer relationships.
• Travel occasionally to customer sites across the UK, with travel expenses covered.

Technical Sales Engineer Position Requirements

• A background in Manufacturing or Engineering, gained through professional experience or education.
• Ideally, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Able to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and machinery with moving parts.
• Able to learn technical products and communicate complex information clearly.
• Experience with industrial machinery or manufacturing equipment would be advantageous.
• Previous sales or business development experience is beneficial but not essential.
• A proactive attitude, with an interest in developing commercial and relationship-building skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Stanmore, Middlesex, and be happy to travel occasionally to customer sites.

Technical Sales Engineer Position Package

• Salary of 30,000 - 40,000, depending on experience.
• Company bonus on top of salary.
• 28 days' holiday, including bank holidays.
• Monday to Friday working hours.
