Overview

Hello Flamingo is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the retail, manufacturing, design & build, visual merchandising or related sector.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quoting and costing, production and installations, with design skills being an advantage.

The role involves overseeing projects from initial client brief and concept development through to manufacture and final installation, ensuring they run smoothly and are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard. You will also build and maintain strong client and supplier relationships and contribute to the continued growth and development of Hello Flamingo.

Main Responsibilities

·        Meet and communicate with existing and new clients, presenting the company portfolio, brainstorming ideas and agreeing project briefs.

·        Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact throughout projects.

·        Manage multiple projects from initial brief and concept through to production and installation.

·        Brainstorm concepts with Project Managers and Designers and assist with designs, sketches and mood boards where required.

·        Develop and present accurate project quotations, ensuring all material, labour, production, transport and installation costs are covered.

·        Negotiate quotations and project requirements with clients and suppliers.

·        Manage project budgets, timelines, purchase orders and staff hours using Excel and the company’s project management systems.

·        Source and order all materials, components and services required for projects and ensure associated paperwork is completed correctly.

·        Research new materials and suppliers and continue to develop the company’s supplier database.

·        Maintain productive relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and freelance staff.

·        Produce detailed production packs and brief the Studio and Production teams with all relevant information, including drawings, specifications, timelines, scheduled hours and material delivery dates.

·        Work closely with the Production team throughout manufacture, ensuring clear communication and resolving any issues that arise.

·        Prioritise workloads and coordinate workshop resources and additional staff where required.

·        Organise couriers, drivers, transport and vehicle hire where necessary.

·        Coordinate and manage on-site installations for projects, ensuring teams have the correct information, materials and equipment.

·        Be flexible with working hours for pre-planned installations, which may occasionally include evenings, nights or weekends.

·        Work closely with other Project Managers and Designers, sharing ideas and providing support and cover where necessary.

·        Follow the Company’s Health & Safety procedures and ensure appropriate PPE and project-specific safety measures are implemented within the workshop and on site.

·        Maintain an organised working environment and be willing to support the wider team wherever required.

Essential Skills & Experience

·        Minimum 3 years’ Project Management experience within retail, manufacturing, design & build, visual merchandising, events, experiential or a related industry.

·        Strong commercial skills with experience in quoting, costing and budget management.

·        Good knowledge of materials, manufacturing and production processes.

·        Experience overseeing projects through production and installation.

·        Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and adapt to changing demands.

·        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with confidence dealing with clients, suppliers and production teams.

·        Strong negotiation and creative problem-solving skills.

·        Excellent Excel skills and good general IT skills, including Word and Outlook.

·        A proactive, self-motivated approach with a positive can-do attitude.

·        Ability to take ownership of projects while working collaboratively as part of a team.

·        Flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in wherever required.

Desirable Skills

·        Design skills using Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD and/or SketchUp, or strong sketching skills.

·        Experience creating or interpreting technical drawings and production packs.

·        Experience using WorkflowMax or similar project management software.

·        Knowledge of retail installations, materials, fire ratings and Health & Safety requirements.
