Job Description



An enterprise financial services organization in Virginia is seeking a Software Packaging Engineer in Vienna to join their team. This hybrid role supports software packaging, testing, and deployment efforts for enterprise Windows applications within a modern application delivery environment.


About the Opportunity:




  • Shift: Day shift




  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (3 days onsite)




  • Hours: Standard business




  • Setting: Hybrid (at least 3 days a week onsite)




Responsibilities:




  • Package, repackage, and deploy enterprise Windows applications for production use




  • Test and validate applications for functionality, compatibility, and performance




  • Support application deployment and lifecycle management across enterprise environments




  • Troubleshoot packaging, installation, and compatibility issues and help identify root causes




  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts, documentation, and packaging standards




Qualifications:




  • 3+ years of experience in software packaging engineering or a related application engineering role




  • Experience packaging and deploying enterprise software in Windows environments




  • Strong knowledge of MSI packaging, application repackaging, and software deployment technologies




  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)




  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and application automation




  • Experience troubleshooting application installation, compatibility, and deployment issues




  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills




Desired Skills:




  • Hands-on experience with Liquidware FlexApp and application layering workflows




  • Experience supporting virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments




  • Experience with application virtualization or other application packaging tools such as InstallShield




  • Familiarity with enterprise software delivery modernization initiatives
