Assistant Building Engineer

About the Role

As a CBRE Maintenance Sr. Technician, you’ll help maintain medium to large buildings, equipment, and industrial systems.

You’ll focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and building system performance to help keep facilities operating safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

Preventive Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment or system issues.
• Diagnose problems and complete necessary repairs.
• Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.

Work Orders & Projects

• Assign and manage work orders.
• Estimate the time and materials required to complete repairs.
• Work within established procedures to complete assignments and meet deadlines.

Building Systems & Energy Efficiency

• Monitor building systems to ensure they are operating efficiently.
• Support energy management initiatives through proper equipment operation.
• Inspect new installations for compliance with building codes and safety requirements.

Team & Communication

• Apply knowledge of standard maintenance and engineering principles to daily tasks.
• Communicate clearly, ask questions, and confirm understanding when completing assignments.
• Take ownership of the quality of completed work.
• Lead by example and demonstrate CBRE RISE values.

What You’ll Need

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2–3 years of related experience.
• A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in place of a diploma.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Skills & Experience

• Ability to follow established procedures to troubleshoot and solve standard problems.
• Experience reviewing information and applying standard practices to make sound decisions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Inquisitive mindset with the ability to ask questions and identify solutions.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Stooping and bending.
• Climbing stairs and ladders.
• Lifting and carrying 50 lbs. or more.
