Data Lead - Cititec Talent Ltd

12 month initial contract | Up to £1200/day Outside IR35 | London - Hybrid | Streaming, Lakehouse & Cloud Data

A large trading organisation is rebuilding its enterprise data platform, bringing together streaming, storage, transformation and governance into one shared platform for the business.

We need a hands-on Lead or Principal Engineer to turn architecture into working software: guiding event-streaming pipelines, production data pipelines on a modern lakehouse stack, and setting standards other engineers build on.

You'll need:

1. Led the build or major modernisation of a production data platform
2. Strong hands-on experience with a major streaming technology (Kafka or equivalent)
3. Production experience with a lakehouse/Spark-based analytics platform
4. Strong Python/SQL and a major public cloud
5. Comfortable mentoring engineers and setting technical direction across teams

Bonus: Flink, dbt, Iceberg, data mesh/data contracts, trading or financial services background.
