Up to £50,000, plus£2,550 Call Out & Annual Bonus

Joining our Section Mill team as a Mechanical Engineer, you will be working on some of the largest pieces of kit youll find in the industry. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage mechanical activities (i.e. planned maintenance programs, shutdowns or emergency repairs) to minimize break-downs and malfunctions

Ensure that risk assessments, method statements and permits are created, implemented and being followed

Estimate the cost, time, and resources required for repair and improvement projects

Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines and shift managers to ensure the effective running of the process

Working within the wider Engineering Team, youll be leading and managing projects as well as a team of Mechanical Technicians. Analysis, design and planning is a key part of your role, but you will also enjoy being down on the plant and getting stuck in.

You will be an experienced and skilled Mechanical Engineer, who is passionate about manufacturing, continuous improvement, and team development. Ideally your background will be in the steel industry, but most importantly, you will be excited by heavy industry, hands on engineering, where you can make a real impact.

You will need

Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Strong experience of Preventative Maintenance & Reliability Engineering processes

Hands on engineer who prioritises the efficient running of the plant

Experience of leading and developing successful teams
