Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Project Manager 3 to lead a large-scale statewide laptop refresh and enterprise hardware deployment project in Austin, Texas.

The ideal candidate will have strong IT project management experience along with a proven track record managing hardware refresh, laptop deployment, device imaging, procurement, scheduling, vendor coordination, and large-scale enterprise deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end statewide laptop refresh program.
• Coordinate laptop and hardware procurement, imaging, configuration, scheduling, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
• Coordinate internal teams, vendors, deployment resources, and stakeholders.
• Manage deployment schedules across multiple locations and user groups.
• Track project risks, issues, action items, and dependencies.
• Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are completed on schedule.
• Prepare project status reports, dashboards, and executive-level updates.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers throughout the deployment lifecycle.
• Ensure proper documentation and project governance.
• Identify and resolve project issues and deployment blockers.
• Manage large-scale device deployment activities while maintaining project quality and timelines.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT Project Management experience.
• Proven experience managing hardware deployment, laptop refresh, desktop refresh, or enterprise device deployment projects.
• Experience coordinating large-scale IT infrastructure or endpoint deployment initiatives.
• Strong experience with project planning, scheduling, risk management, issue management, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience managing vendors and third-party deployment teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certification.
• Previous experience with Texas State Agencies or government IT projects.
• Experience managing deployments involving 800+ devices.
• Experience with enterprise endpoint technologies such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, imaging, Windows deployment, endpoint management, or device provisioning.
• Experience with statewide or geographically distributed hardware deployments.
