Job description

We are looking for a Sr. Data Warehouse Engineer. This is a hybrid, full-time permanent hire position in Raleigh, North Carolina with our client. In this role as a Sr. Data Warehouse Engineer, you will be responsible for complex data workflows, optimization, and data modeling. As a Sr. Data Warehouse Engineer, you will be improving the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), building out new data marts for business, refining ETL/ELT processes, and working more closely with data governance, performance tuning, and automation. No visa sponsorship is available at this time or in future for this position.

Responsibilities as a Sr. Data Warehouse Engineer:

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT processes to support data integration
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
  • Work independently on assign projects to support business initiatives within agile delivery teams
  • Ensure data quality and consistency by identifying and resolving data integrity issues
  • Implement and monitor data governance, security, and compliance policies
  • Support performance tuning of SQL queries and database structures
  • Automate data workflows and improve monitoring and alerting processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline and infrastructure issues
  • Document and standardize best practices for data engineering processes

Required skills and qualifications as a Sr. Data Warehouse Engineer:

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or database administration
  • Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse, data lake, and data modeling concepts
  • Experience optimizing SQL queries and database performance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • BA/BS degree (Data, Computer Science or other related field of study preferred)
