Job Description

Home Instead Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Wem is recruiting compassionate, reliable people to support older adults in their own homes on Sunday mornings. With minimum 1-hour visits, you’ll have the time to provide proper, person-centred care and build genuine relationships — not rushed, task-only calls.

This position requires reliable local travel between client visits, so applications are invited from candidates living within our immediate service area only.

What You’ll Do

Provide practical support and companionship, including:

  • Companionship and emotional reassurance

  • Personal care and morning routines

  • Medication prompts/support (where required)

  • Mobility support and safe moving assistance

  • Breakfast preparation and light household tasks

No Experience Needed — Full Training Provided

You’ll receive structured induction, shadowing, and ongoing support, plus opportunities to grow:

  • Paid mandatory training

  • Structured induction and mentoring

  • Option for accredited Dementia Care training

  • Option for accredited End of Life Care training

  • Funded Health & Social Care qualifications

  • Opportunities to increase hours and progress

Pay & Benefits

  • £12.60 – £13.60 per hour (higher rates with completed NVQ levels)

  • Paid travel and wait time

  • 35p per mile mileage

  • Guaranteed hours available

Sunday Morning Hours
