Senior Design Engineer

Your New Company You will be joining a well-established, market-leading engineering business specialising in mobile recycling machinery. Your New Role As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of new products, as well as the continuous improvement of existing machinery. Working closely with the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineered solutions within agreed timescales while ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Design and develop new products and enhance existing machinery Apply engineering best practices including QFD, FMEA, design for manufacture, prototyping, and testing Ensure all designs meet safety, performance, and reliability standards Manage engineering data in line with global standards and systems Identify cost reduction opportunities through design improvements and supplier collaboration Investigate and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies What You'll Need to Succeed Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience), ideally with design experience in mobile or tracked equipment Strong 3D CAD skills (CREO preferred) and experience with PDM systems Solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems Experience in mobile recycling machinery (highly desirable) Knowledge of Oracle TMS (advantageous) Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Key Skills & Attributes Proactive, "can-do" attitude with strong team collaboration skills Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines Strong decision-making skills when evaluating design alternatives Ability to identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks Innovative thinker with a passion for engineering excellence What You'll Get in Return Competitive salary and benefits package Hybrid working options 4.5 day working week 12:30 finish on a Friday Up to 10% Bonus Opportunity to work on innovative, industry-leading products Career progression within a global engineering organisation Collaborative and supportive working environment What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
