Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership, technical architects, Product Managers, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to define product roadmaps and delivery priorities.
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog for consumer payment experiences, including Zelle®, bill pay, internal and external transfers, ACH, and domestic wires.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into clear, actionable epics, features, and user stories.
  • Write user stories that clearly define functionality, business requirements, payment rules, exception scenarios, and customer experience considerations.
  • Prioritize backlog items and manage trade-offs across current and future sprints based on business value, customer impact, risk, and technical considerations.
  • Participate in and facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Partner closely with Development and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle to ensure requirements are understood, solutions are appropriately tested, and features are deployment-ready.
  • Make day-to-day tactical decisions regarding payment features, priorities, trade-offs, and defect resolution to keep development moving efficiently.
  • Solicit stakeholder feedback to ensure proposed solutions are valuable, appropriately scoped, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintain product documentation, including process flows, business rules, payment scenarios, requirements, and release notes.
  • Collaborate with UX, Technology, Fraud, Compliance, Operations, Servicing, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to deliver effective payment solutions.
  • Communicate product progress, risks, dependencies, decisions, and changes to stakeholders across Product, Operations, Servicing, and Technology.
  • Develop safe rollout strategies and minimize disruption to dependent teams and customers when introducing enhancements or breaking changes.
  • Support product upgrades, training, communications, and implementation activities as needed.
  • Help identify and remove team impediments that could impact delivery.
  • Monitor product performance and operational outcomes, including payment success rates, error and exception trends, customer adoption, and operational impacts.
  • Manage vendor relationships when applicable, including deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and ongoing performance.
  • Serve as an internal and external ambassador for assigned products and act as a primary point of contact for product-related questions.
  • Support projects of varying size, complexity, and business priority while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and delivery quality.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Product Lead, or similar product-focused role.
  • Strong experience supporting financial services, banking, payments, ACH, wire transfers, treasury, or banking operations.
  • Demonstrated experience writing detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements, and functional requirements.
  • Experience defining payment functionality, payment rules, exception flows, and customer experience requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and participation in sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and related ceremonies.
  • Strong experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs, epics, features, and user stories.
  • Ability to make tactical product decisions involving priorities, trade-offs, payment features, and defect resolution.
  • Experience working closely with Developers and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience using Jira for backlog management, story tracking, and sprint execution.
  • Proficiency with Confluence for product documentation, requirements, process flows, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
