Senior AWS Data Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer in Charlotte, NC.

Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Senior AWS Data Engineer with strong experience in Java, Python, PySpark, SQL, AWS Data Engineering, API development, AWS Bedrock, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue, PySpark, S3, Athena, and Redshift
• Develop complex data transformations and data-quality solutions using Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Design and develop Java-based REST APIs, preferably using Spring Boot
• Build integrations between APIs, databases, AWS services, and enterprise applications
• Develop and integrate MCP servers and MCP tools to expose enterprise APIs, data, and services to AI agents
• Develop GenAI solutions using AWS Bedrock, LLMs, tool calling, and agent-based architectures
• Implement production-grade logging, exception handling, security, testing, monitoring, and CI/CD

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
