Job Description

User Researcher

Location: Newcastle | Hybrid: 3 days per week in office

Salary: Up to £55,000


We’re looking for an experienced User Researcher to join a collaborative UX & Design team, working across a range of digital transformation projects.


You’ll lead user research from planning and recruitment through to conducting sessions, analysing findings and presenting insights. You’ll work closely with Product Owners, Service Managers, Designers and Developers to influence product direction and ensure users remain at the heart of delivery.


Key Responsibilities

•Plan, recruit and conduct user research sessions.

•Analyse findings and turn insights into actionable requirements.

•Present research findings to teams and senior stakeholders.

•Work closely with UX Designers and Developers throughout the delivery lifecycle.

•Advocate for users within Agile/Scrum teams.

•Help embed user-centred design best practice.


Essential Experience

•Proven experience as a User Researcher.

•Experience working with GDS or to GDS standards – essential.

•Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.

•Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

•A user-centred approach with the confidence to influence decision-making.


Desirable: A portfolio demonstrating experience across user journeys, personas, user research, prototyping and user testing.


Security Clearance

The role requires BPSS and SC clearance, including 5 years of continuous UK address history, typically with no periods of 28+ consecutive days outside the UK.
