Job Description
As a User Researcher, you will work alongside a team of creative and passionate UX Design specialists dedicated to crafting user-centred designs for digital products and services. Operating across multiple clients and industries, you will champion the value of User-Centred Design (UCD) as a core delivery best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Research Planning & Execution: Lead on planning, recruiting, and conducting user research sessions (both remotely and face-to-face) to support digital client services and projects.
- End-to-End Ownership: Manage the complete research lifecycle—from developing user recruitment briefs and conducting sessions to session analysis, report writing, and playbacks to teams and stakeholders.
- Strategic Influence: Align research activities to influence and support decision-making, and collaborate with product owners and service managers to devise focused research strategies.
- Material Development: Convert concepts and emerging findings into high-quality stimulus materials.
- Collaboration & Translation: Work closely with designers and developers to turn user data and insights into actionable requirements that feed into prototype development and influence product direction.
- Agile Delivery: Participate in design and delivery as part of Agile Scrum teams, identifying and progressing client issues while advocating for users.
- Team Growth: Collaborate with the UX & Design Team to share knowledge, acquire new skills, and design transformational services.
Essential Requirements & Experience
- Relevant professional experience as a User Researcher.
- Direct experience working with the Government Design System (GDS) or adhering to GDS standards.
- Proven experience working as part of an Agile Scrum team .
- Strong capability in advocating for users and helping teams and stakeholders navigate a user-centred design process.
- Security Clearance: Subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance, requiring 5 years of continuous UK address history (typically with no periods of 30 consecutive days or more spent outside the UK) at the time of application.
