Job Description

At Cura Health, we are looking for a passionate and dependable Dietary Cook to join our team. As a Dietary Cook, you will play an important role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

In this role, you will prepare and serve meals according to established menus, recipes, portion guidelines, and therapeutic diet requirements while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. You will work closely with the dietary and nursing teams to help ensure residents receive meals that support their health, comfort, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and resident dietary needs.
  • Follow therapeutic diets, food allergies, and special dietary requirements.
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served at the appropriate temperature and on time.
  • Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and food preparation area.
  • Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
  • Assist with meal service, food preparation, and kitchen cleanup as needed.
  • Communicate dietary concerns or resident meal preferences to appropriate staff.
  • Follow facility policies and state and federal food-service regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
  • Healthcare, long-term care, or senior living experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices.
  • Ability to follow menus, recipes, portion sizes, and therapeutic diet requirements.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry kitchen supplies and equipment.
