Developed and operated by Method Co., ROOST offers a unique hospitality experience centered on exceptional design, personalized service, and a genuine sense of community.

Position Overview

Method Co. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Rooms to lead the rooms division and oversee daily operations at ROOST Baltimore. This individual will be responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience, driving operational excellence, developing a high-performing team, and maintaining the elevated service standards synonymous with the ROOST brand.

In addition to overseeing front office, guest services, housekeeping, and rooms operations, the Director of Rooms will provide operational leadership and oversight of Little Wing, the property's on-site café, ensuring a seamless integration of café operations into the overall guest experience.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader with strong operational acumen, financial awareness, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure exceptional guest service standards are consistently maintained throughout the property.
  • Lead daily operations to maximize efficiency, guest satisfaction, and team productivity.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures that align with ROOST and Method Co. brand standards.
  • Monitor guest feedback, resolve escalated concerns, and identify opportunities to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Collaborate with property leadership to optimize occupancy, room readiness, and operational performance.
  • Maintain a strong presence throughout the property, supporting team members and ensuring operational consistency.

Little Wing Café Operations

  • Provide direct operational oversight of Little Wing, ensuring the café delivers a high-quality food, beverage, and service experience consistent with Method Co. Standards.
  • Partner with café leadership and team members to oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and service execution.
  • Monitor café financial performance, including revenue, labor costs, cost of goods sold, and operating expenses.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, health department regulations, and applicable licensing requirements.
  • Maintain standards for food and beverage presentation, product quality, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere.
  • Identify opportunities to drive café revenue, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the experience for hotel guests and local customers.
  • Collaborate with corporate food and beverage leadership on menu development, programming, promotions, and operational initiatives as appropriate.
  • Ensure Little Wing operates as an integrated extension of the ROOST guest experience while maintaining its own distinct identity and appeal.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members across rooms operations and Little Wing.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and service-oriented workplace culture.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and provide consistent coaching and feedback.
  • Oversee scheduling, labor management, and staffing levels to meet operational demands.
  • Promote accountability, professional development, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Financial & Operational Performance

  • Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets, forecasts, and operating expenses.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including guest satisfaction, labor productivity, departmental expenses, and café profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, and maximize revenue without compromising service quality.
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory controls, and vendor relationships across assigned departments.
  • Partner with property and corporate leadership to achieve financial and operational objectives.

Property Standards & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, and corporate teams to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, presentation, and brand standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and applicable local regulations.
  • Support special events, guest programming, and initiatives that enhance the property's connection to the surrounding Baltimore community.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Director of Rooms, Rooms Division Manager, Front Office Manager, or comparable hotel leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing or collaborating closely with food and beverage operations; café, restaurant, or all-day dining experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of front office operations, housekeeping management, guest services, and hotel operating procedures.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse teams across multiple departments.
  • Solid financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost controls.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to daily operations.
  • Passion for hospitality, design, and creating thoughtful, personalized guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
