Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Simulation Developer to join a team developing next-generation modeling and simulation capabilities that support critical defense and naval mission objectives. This role is ideal for a software engineer with experience building simulation environments, game-based systems, or virtual training platforms who wants to contribute to high-impact national security programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced modeling and simulation applications.
- Build and integrate simulation capabilities within larger mission and system architectures.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and operational SMEs to improve simulation fidelity and performance.
- Develop new features, conduct testing and validation, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Support interoperability and mission-focused testing efforts, including Naval Capabilities Integration Process (NCIP) initiatives.
- Lead project planning, technical documentation, data collection, and stakeholder coordination activities.
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of software development experience focused on modeling, simulation, gaming, or virtual environments.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages including C++, C#, Python, or Java.
- Experience with simulation or game-development platforms such as AFSIM, Unity, Unreal Engine, Simio, or Arena.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems and collaborative development practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced technical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting military, defense, or operational modeling and simulation programs.
- Knowledge of Naval systems and the Naval Capabilities Integration Process (NCIP).
- Familiarity with 3D graphics, physics engines, and database technologies such as SQL.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum software development environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and mission-focused teams.
