Position: Deputy Engineering Leader.

Location: Mc Lean, VA.

Position Type: Permanent position.

Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly from CIA.

Job Description: We are seeking a Cybersecurity Project Engineer for our Federal Government customer at the client location in Mc Lean, VA. The role focuses on vulnerability management and maintaining the security and risk posture of networks, systems, and information. Key requirements: Please target candidates with experience in the following areas: Hands-on deployment, configuration, and operation of market-leading vulnerability management tools. Adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), computer attack methods, and system exploitation techniques.

Cybersecurity principles across Linux, Windows, virtual platforms, networking, and cloud environments. Network architecture and fundamentals. Developing risk management methodologies and analyzing test results to create risk and threat mitigation plans. Common vulnerabilities, including SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, path traversal, command injection, buffer overflows, privilege escalation, authentication bypasses, and XML External Entity attacks. Privilege and trust boundaries, including distinguishing vulnerabilities from weaknesses. Vulnerability and risk scoring using CVSSv2 and CVSSv3.

Vulnerability repositories and frameworks, including NVD, MITRE CVE, VULdb, MITRE ATT&CK, MITRE DEFEND, and OWASP. Explaining how vulnerabilities can be exploited and their impact on the broader network threat landscape. Patch management, software development lifecycle, security operations, network security, cloud security, and information security. Please prioritize candidates with a strong combination of practical vulnerability management experience, exploitation knowledge, and risk analysis, not solely general cybersecurity or compliance experience.
