Job Description:

7+ years of hands-on experience implementing, configuring, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-scale CDN environments across highly distributed systems. You thrive in fast-paced environments, possess deep expertise in CDN technologies, automation, networking, and security, and are comfortable supporting critical go-live activities during off-hours and late-night deployment windows.

Need to be a proactive problem solver who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, provide architectural guidance, and develop scalable CDN solutions that improve application performance, reliability, security, and user experience.

·  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.

· Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience may be considered.

· Industry certifications in CDN, cloud, networking, security, or DevOps technologies are highly desirable (e.g., Akamai, AWS, Google Cloud, Terraform, or related certifications).

·  Strong experience with CDN platforms, including Akamai, Imperva, Fastly, CloudFront, and Cloudflare.

·  Experience with two or more programming or scripting languages such as:

§ Python

§ GoLang

§ Node.js

§ Java

·  Experience building automation frameworks using:

§ Python

§ Terraform

§ GitOps

§ Other automation and scripting technologies

·  Strong understanding of:

§ TCP/IP

§ DNS

§ HTTP/HTTPS

§ TLS/mTLS

§ Load Balancing

§ Proxy technologies

§ Web Application Firewalls (WAF)

·  Experience with REST APIs, Postman, API acceleration, and caching strategies.

·  Experience supporting distributed systems across cloud and hybrid environments.

·  Ability to participate in on-call support and work flexible schedules, including after-hours production deployments.

Job Responsibilities
Development & Enforcement

·  Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise CDN solutions across distributed environments.

· Develop and enforce CDN standards, best practices, security controls, and operational procedures.

· Implement and maintain Bot Manager, DNS configurations, caching strategies, routing rules, and security policies.

· Ensure CDN configurations comply with organizational security requirements and industry standards.

· Optimize content delivery performance through effective caching, traffic management, and acceleration techniques.

Collaboration & Expertise

·  Partner with application teams, developers, network engineers, cloud engineers, and security teams to integrate CDN services into enterprise applications.

·    Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership on CDN technologies and platform capabilities.

·    Develop reference architectures, configuration standards, deployment processes, and technical recommendations for enterprise solution teams.

·    Participate in architecture reviews and strategic technology discussions.

Analysis & Configuration

·             Configure, optimize, and manage CDN platforms including:

o    Akamai (preferred)

o Imperva

o Fastly

o AWS CloudFront

o Cloudflare

· Analyze traffic patterns, performance metrics, cache effectiveness, and security events.

· Optimize search engine performance and content delivery efficiency through CDN tuning.

· Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and implement improvements to reduce latency and increase availability.

· Manage API acceleration, caching patterns, and edge delivery optimizations.

Operational Support

·  Provide operational support for CDN services, including incident response, troubleshooting, triage, and root cause analysis.

·  Participate in on-call rotations and support late-night go-live activities and production deployments.

·  Monitor CDN environments using enterprise monitoring and observability tools.

·  Build dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms to ensure platform stability and reliability.

·  Ensure rapid resolution of production issues while minimizing business impact.

Mentorship & Training

·  Mentor engineers and support teams on CDN technologies, automation practices, and operational procedures.

·  Share knowledge regarding CDN architecture, caching strategies, monitoring, troubleshooting, and security best practices.

·  Create technical documentation, operational runbooks, and training materials.

Innovation and Research

·  Research emerging CDN technologies, edge computing innovations, and industry trends.

·  Evaluate new tools, platforms, and capabilities to improve enterprise CDN performance and operational efficiency.

·  Drive automation initiatives using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and modern DevOps practices.

·  Recommend innovative solutions that improve reliability, security, scalability, and customer experience.

Strategic Planning

·  Contribute to long-term CDN strategy, platform evolution, and roadmap planning.

·  Develop scalable architectures aligned with business growth and technology objectives.

·  Assess current-state environments and provide recommendations for optimization and modernization.

·  Assist leadership with capacity planning, technology selection, and enterprise architecture decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

·             Deep expertise with Akamai products and services, including:

o Akamai TrafficPeak

o Akamai Metadata Tracer

o Akamai security and delivery products

· Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as:

o Grafana

o Splunk

o Microsoft Sentinel

o New Relic

· Experience creating dashboards, alerting frameworks, and performance monitoring solutions.

· Knowledge of search engine optimization and CDN performance optimization techniques.

· Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, virtualized environments, and enterprise cloud architectures.

· Familiarity with DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.

· Experience developing enterprise reference architectures and deployment standards.

· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
