Data Engineer - Snowflake & Informatica
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Partial Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join a growing data team. This role will be instrumental in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms, with an emphasis on Snowflake and Informatica. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a passion for data architecture, and a collaborative mindset to support enterprise-wide data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Snowflake, Informatica, and AWS Glue.
• Develop and optimize Snowflake data warehouses, including schema design, clustering, and performance tuning.
• Integrate data from diverse sources including APIs, flat files, and databases into centralized data platforms.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define data models, and deliver business-critical insights.
• Automate workflows using Snowflake Tasks, OpenFlow, CortexAI, Streams, and DBT.
• Lead or contribute to cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering and cloud architecture.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning, Time Travel, Cloning, and security policies.
• Proficiency in Informatica or similar ETL tools.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift) and/or Azure Databricks.
• Solid understanding of SQL, Python, and Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with data modeling techniques such as dimensional modeling and star/snowflake schema.
• Experience with version control tools like GitHub and agile collaboration tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance and scalability.

Preferred Qualifications

• SnowPro Core Certification.
• Certifications in Informatica, AWS, or Agile methodologies.
• Experience in life sciences, banking, or telecom domains.
• Demonstrated ability to lead Proofs of Concept (POCs) and develop accelerators.
• Communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Oracle HCM integration or data extraction.
