Job Description

Data Center Operations – Smart Hands / Rack & Stack | Rensselaer, NY | On-Call Rotation

 

Position: Data Center Smart Hands

Work location: Rensselaer, New York

Duration: 06+ Months

Extension: Yes

Contract to Hire: Possible

 

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8 AM – 5 PM (includes a rotating every-other-week on-call schedule)

Location: Onsite in Rensselaer, NY (No travel required)

 

What you’ll be doing:

Rack & Stack: Installing, removing, and organizing servers, switches, and network devices (must be comfortable lifting 50–100 lbs).

Smart Hands Support: Partnering with remote engineering teams to perform reboots, basic diagnostics, and cable management (copper/fiber).

Hardware Maintenance: Replacing components like power supplies, hard drives, memory, and fans.

 

What we are looking for:

2–5 years of data center, server room, or MDF/IDF closet experience.

Strong familiarity with enterprise hardware (Dell, HPE, Cisco) and ticketing tools (ServiceNow) is a huge plus.
