Job Description

Caterlink is the education sector catering specialist. For over 20 years, the Company has delivered fresh food solutions to pupils and staff at Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Colleges across the UK. The company caters more than 1,000,000 meals a week. Our “Fresh Food Policy” is the foundation of our success and growth in the market coupled with a desire to truly deliver on the promises we make to our clients and support our site-based teams.

We are hiring for a Relief Chef Manager to provide cover in the area of Kingston & Richmond to support our existing site-based teams This role is working term-time only and no weekends so is great for those looking for flexibility.

This role will be a mobile-based role so you will therefore need to have your own transport.

The role:

  • £18.00 per hour 
  • 30 hours per week working Monday – Friday
  • Term-time only – working 39 weeks per year

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • To prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client
  • To ensure that our locations meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures
  • To ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers and expectations are consistently exceeded
  • To support with the day-to-day running of the location and supervising teams including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans

- Educated to 4 GCSE’s or above

- NVQ qualification or equivalent

- Excellent craft skills background

- Successful progressive background in catering

- Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene or above

- Strong Supervisory experience

- Ability to display a real passion for food and customer service

- Successful progressive background in education catering

- Management of medium size location

- Excellent organisational skills

- Ability to plan ahead 

- Good negotiating skills

- Ability to work on own initiative

- Excellent communicator at all levels 

- Computer literate

- Good delegation and influencing skills

- Effective at time management  

- Flexibility in working at different sites

- Smart clean appearance, high standard of personal hygiene · Confident, lively and outgoing personality · Approachable, friendly and cheerful · Respectful and able to gain respect · Keen to continue self development within current role and ambition for further promotion or growth
