Job Description

Remote.TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH IMPLEMENTATION AND MERCURY GATE EXP!

Seeking a highly experienced TMS Implementation Design Lead to lead and execute the release lifecycle for a fast-paced 3PL warehouse environment. This role is responsible for coordinating frequent system changes—including configurations, enhancements, and defect fixes—while ensuring operational stability across distribution centers.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, understands MercuryGate/Infios’ continuous update model, and can balance rapid delivery with the realities of warehouse operations (labor, throughput, customer SLAs).

Key Responsibilities
Release Planning (MercuryGate/Infios Focus)

  • Own and manage the MercuryGate/Infios release cadence, including continuous updates, configuration migrations, and hotfixes
  • Coordinate release windows aligned with 3PL operational constraints (cutoffs, peak seasons, client SLAs)
  • Maintain a structured release calendar covering multiple sites and clients

Configuration & Deployment Management

  • Manage promotion of MercuryGate/Infios configurations across environments (e.g., tenant-based lifecycle: DEV / TEST / STAGE / PROD)
  • Ensure strict governance of:
    • Configuration packages
    • Extension deployments (if applicable)
    • Integration touchpoints
  • Validate environment readiness and data integrity prior to releases

Testing & Validation Oversight

  • Coordinate functional testing and UAT with operations, super users, and IT teams
  • Ensure test scenarios cover:
    • Inbound/outbound flows
    • Inventory accuracy
    • Automation/system integrations (e.g., MHE, parcel, ERP)
  • Validate production readiness using documented go-live criteria

Stakeholder & Client Communication

  • Act as the central point of contact for:
    • IT teams
    • Warehouse operations leadership
    • 3PL client representatives (where applicable)
  • Communicate release scope, risks, impacts, and readiness clearly and concisely
  • Lead go/no-go decision meetings for production releases

Operational Risk & Incident Management

  • Identify risks specific to 3PL environments (e.g., multi-client configs, peak volume impacts)
  • Coordinate mitigation strategies and contingency planning
  • Lead HyperCare support post-release and manage incident triage
  • Execute rollback strategies when needed with minimal operational disruption

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and refine release management standards for MercuryGate/Infios
  • Improve repeatability of deployments across sites and clients
  • Identify opportunities for:
    • Automation in release and testing processes
    • Better alignment between product/config teams and operations
  • Drive lessons learned from retrospectives into process improvements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Release Management, Deployment Management, or IT Delivery
  • Hands-on experience with MercuryGate/Infios TMS (cloud-native platform required)
  • Proven experience managing frequent, iterative releases in production environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • TMS configuration management and promotion processes
    • Multi-environment lifecycle (tenant-based environments)
    • Integration dependencies (ERP, TMS, automation/MHE, parcel systems)
  • Experience supporting live warehouse operations, preferably in a 3PL setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in 3PL / contract logistics environments (multi-client, multi-site operations)
  • Exposure to automation systems (conveyors, sorters, AMRs, etc.) integrated with TMS
  • Familiarity with:
    • MercuryGate/Infios extensibility framework
    • API-driven integrations
  • Experience working in Agile or product-driven delivery models
  • ITIL or structured change/release governance background

Key Skills & Traits

  • Deep understanding of warehouse operations impact vs system changes
  • Strong execution mindset—not just coordination, but ownership
  • Excellent stakeholder management across IT and operations
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail in high-frequency release cycles
  • Calm under pressure, especially during go-live and peak periods
  • Ability to manage complexity across multiple clients, sites, and configurations
