About the Role
The Finance Manager in the retail trade sector plays a critical role in overseeing and directing the financial health of the organization. This position is responsible for developing comprehensive financial plans, managing corporate finance activities, and ensuring accurate financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. The Finance Manager will lead efforts to optimize financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting, to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
They will also maintain and analyze balance sheets to monitor the company’s financial position and compliance with regulatory requirements. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the retail industry.
Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and corporate finance principles.
Experience with balance sheet management and cost accounting practices.
Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or related discipline.
Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
Experience working in a large-scale retail environment with multi-location operations.
Familiarity with advanced financial planning tools and ERP systems.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor financial plans and budgets aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. Conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting to provide insights into business performance and identify areas for improvement. Manage corporate finance functions including capital structure, funding strategies, and investment analysis. Oversee cost accounting processes to control expenses and improve cost efficiency across retail operations. Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making and operational initiatives. Lead and mentor finance team members to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality financial management. Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal controls to mitigate risks.
