Junior Platform Engineer

Kudosity is seeking a Junior Platform Engineer to work with Platform Engineering to ensure our development teams have a strong and stable platform to deliver on.

How you'll make an impact

You will be joining the Platform Engineering team whose remit covers the development and technical operation of our production systems. As part of this team, you will be learning how to build and deploy software across the full lifecycle, from building the underlying platform through to enabling reliable services in production.

Our Platform Engineering team operates across a wide variety of technologies. We are responsible for the maintenance of a legacy stack while helping our application development team lift and shift capabilities into our modern stack.

We are a team that believes in the power of modern tooling, such as Infrastructure as Code managed through Terraform, Continuous Delivery through Kubernetes and a modern interface powered by Golang and React.

Please note that this role sits within our Platform Engineering team and is focused on infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and DevOps practices, rather than traditional software engineering.

What you'll do

The overall aim of To ensure this, this role will cover the following:

• Infrastructure and network management as part of technical operation of production systems.
• Provisioning and management of resources across multiple cloud environments.
• Enabling the wider adoption of modern development practices through metrics and monitoring.
• Triage and resolution of issues raised in Platform Engineering.
• Work with development teams to help raise quality and availability of systems.
• Work with our high-trust culture and data-driven approach to improvement.

What you'll bring

• Some previous experience in a programming or scripting language (Golang, JS/React, Python or PHP a bonus)
• Some experience using Git in a shared environment (Pull Requests, Rebase, etc.)
• Some experience in Application Support

Optional

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and/or Docker build pipelines
• Experience with a cloud environment (GCP a bonus)
• Implementation and/or maintenance of Kubernetes
