Finance Transformation SME SAP S/4HANA (Contract) "100% Remote"
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Finance leader to serve as a Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a global SAP S/4HANA transformation program. This role will represent the Finance organization in the design, testing, deployment, and optimization of future-state Record-to-Report (RTR) processes across a complex multinational manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in manufacturing finance, product costing, inventory valuation, controlling, profitability analysis, and financial reporting, combined with significant experience supporting ERP transformations and SAP implementations. The SME will partner closely with business stakeholders, SAP COE teams, IT, system integrators, and project leadership to ensure SAP S/4HANA solutions effectively support operational, financial, and strategic business objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Finance & Manufacturing Expertise
  • 15+ years of progressive Finance experience within manufacturing environments.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Product Costing
    • Manufacturing Accounting
    • Cost Accounting
    • Inventory Accounting
    • Standard Cost Systems
    • Financial Planning & Analysis
    • General Accounting
    • Controlling
    • Fixed Assets
    • Profitability Analysis
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end manufacturing financial processes and related reporting requirements.
  • Extensive experience analyzing manufacturing performance, variances, inventory movements, margins, and operational financial metrics.
SAP & Transformation Experience
  • Significant involvement in one or more SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • SAP FICO
    • Product Costing (CO-PC)
    • COPA
    • Asset Accounting
    • Treasury
    • Cost Center Accounting
    • Profit Center Accounting
    • Intercompany Processes
  • Experience participating in global process design, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support activities.
  • Understanding of SAP integration points with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, and Warehouse processes.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced transformation environment with competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAP S/4HANA implementation experience in a medical device, life sciences, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • SAP FICO certification or related ERP certifications.
  • Experience with:
    • Central Finance
    • FSCM
    • Revenue Recognition
    • Revenue Accounting
    • Treasury Management
    • Tax Integration
    • Hyperion or other enterprise reporting tools
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, transfer pricing, and global manufacturing operations.
  • Experience supporting multi-country SAP deployments.
