seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Administrator / Developer to provide hands-on support for a Cincinnati-based organization while it recruits a permanent employee.

This opportunity is ideal for an independent consultant who enjoys solving business problems, making targeted system improvements, and developing reporting that helps leadership understand sales and operational performance. You will work as an extension of the internal team, supporting a live Business Central environment used across finance and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day Business Central administration, user support, and troubleshooting.
• Develop, test, and deploy small AL code changes, extension modifications, and minor customizations.
• Develop and modify Business Central reports.
• Build and maintain Jet Reports using Business Central data.
• Develop Power BI dashboards covering sales, orders, backlog, shipments, and other operational metrics.
• Create executive sales and KPI dashboards.
• Support Power Query and Excel reporting as needed.
• Investigate and resolve integration, data, and reporting issues.
• Work directly with business users to clarify requirements and prioritize support requests.
• Document changes and support a smooth handover to the permanent administrator.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in a production environment.
• Demonstrated AL development experience, including modifying and troubleshooting extensions.
• Experience developing and maintaining Jet Reports.
• Experience building Power BI dashboards using Business Central data.
• Strong understanding of Business Central sales orders, backlog, shipments, and operational reporting.
• Experience developing or modifying native Business Central reports.
• Ability to investigate reporting discrepancies and validate results against underlying transactions.
• Ability to independently manage support requests and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Power Query and advanced Excel reporting.
• Business Central purchasing, inventory, and warehouse workflows.
• Troubleshooting integrations between Business Central and other applications.
• Providing interim support and transferring knowledge to internal teams.
