Job description



A professional services organization in New York City is seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer to manage and enhance a hybrid Azure environment.


About the Opportunity:




  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (with some evening or weekend work as needed)




  • Hours: Standard business




  • Setting: Hybrid (At least 3 days a week onsite)




Responsibilities:




  • Manage, maintain, and enhance Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure




  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Azure infrastructure and networking




  • Design, implement, secure, and troubleshoot Azure environments and core services




  • Support hybrid connectivity, network architecture, and infrastructure automation efforts




  • Partner with cybersecurity and third-party engineering teams to improve security and operational stability




Qualifications:




  • 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience




  • 3+ years of hands-on experience owning and operating production Azure environments




  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure, networking, and troubleshooting




  • Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, BGP/routing, subnetting, DNS, firewalls, and VPN




  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, hybrid identity, and Conditional Access




  • Experience with Microsoft Defender and Zero Trust concepts




  • Proficiency with PowerShell




  • Infrastructure as code experience with Bicep, ARM, or Terraform




  • Experience working with MSPs or third-party engineering teams




Desired Skills:





  • AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-500, or AZ-305 certification





  • AI-102, Security+, or CCSP certification



  • Azure Landing Zones or Cloud Adoption Framework experience




  • Azure Virtual WAN or Azure Virtual Desktop experience




  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Cloud Apps, or Purview




  • Familiarity with Qualys or similar vulnerability management tools




  • Intune or Microsoft 365 administration experience




  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, or Power BI




  • Exposure to Azure AI Search or RAG solutions




  • Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
