Job Description
Discovery Ranch, a residential treatment center for boys ages 13-18, is seeking a dedicated Secondary Math Teacher to join our team. As a Math Teacher at Discovery Ranch, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students by providing them with a quality education in a therapeutic environment. Responsibilities
- Teach secondary math classes, including Algebra, Geometry, and other basic/advance math, to students in grades 7-12.
- Design and implement lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and abilities of our students.
- Utilize innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
- Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement an integrated curriculum.
- Provide individualized support and instruction to students who may be struggling academically.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student success and well-being.
Part-time | Monday-Thursday | 3:30-8:30 pm | $20-25/hour DOE
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Valid Utah teaching certification in Secondary Mathematics
- Previous experience teaching secondary math.
- Knowledge of current teaching strategies and best practices in mathematics education.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex mathematical concepts in a clear and understandable way.
- Passion for working with adolescent students and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.
