Job Description

Product Manager B2B Data Products

Location: UK - Remote
Salary: 55,000 to 65,000

About the Company

Solis Recruitment is partnering with a growing B2B PropTech business that has built a substantial data proposition and is continuing to develop how that data is turned into valuable products, insights and intelligence for its customers.

As the proposition grows, the business is investing in its Product capability, creating greater ownership around customer discovery, product development and identifying where its data can solve meaningful commercial problems.

The Product team operates with a high level of autonomy and a strong emphasis on freedom and responsibility. Product Managers are encouraged to investigate problems, challenge assumptions and use evidence to influence decisions, while taking ownership of the outcomes those decisions create.

It's an environment that values curiosity, evidence-led thinking and healthy challenge. Product plays an active role in deciding what should be built, why it matters and whether it has worked, rather than simply taking requirements from the business.

About the Role

This is a Product Manager role for someone who wants genuine ownership rather than simply managing a roadmap or turning stakeholder requests into tickets.

You'll own an area of the B2B Data & Intelligence product portfolio, working closely with the Director of Product and collaborating across Engineering, Data, Commercial and Customer Success.

A major part of the role is discovery and problem definition. There are plenty of ideas and opportunities, but finite engineering capacity. You'll need to understand what customers are trying to achieve, interrogate the available data, test assumptions and determine which problems are genuinely worth solving.

From there, you'll take problems through the full product lifecycle, from discovery and prioritisation through to delivery, launch and measuring whether the product has created the intended customer and commercial value.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Own the roadmap and backlog for an area of the B2B Data & Intelligence portfolio.
  • Lead customer and product discovery to understand problems before determining potential solutions.
  • Turn customer needs and business assumptions into hypotheses that can be tested using qualitative and quantitative evidence.
  • Prioritise opportunities based on customer value, product data, commercial impact, effort and available engineering capacity.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Data Operations and Data Engineering from early discovery through to delivery.
  • Translate validated problems into clear outcomes and requirements, while allowing technical teams to contribute to how they are solved.
  • Balance value, complexity, speed and quality when making product decisions.
  • Work across Commercial and Customer Success to remain close to customers, without allowing individual requests to dictate the roadmap.
  • Measure performance after launch and use evidence to iterate, improve or rethink the product.

About You

  • Experience working as a Product Manager, with examples of products or features you have taken from an initially unclear problem through discovery and into delivery with Engineering teams.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity, and able to speak with customers, analyse qualitative and quantitative information and build an evidence-based understanding of the underlying problem before looking for a feature or solution.
  • Confident working across technical and commercial teams, communicating your thinking clearly and challenging assumptions when the evidence suggests the business should take a different direction.
  • Experience within B2B SaaS, data products, analytics or intelligence platforms would be particularly relevant.
  • An understanding of APIs, data pipelines and data quality would also be useful, given the nature of the products and the collaboration with Data and Engineering teams.
  • Experience within a data-rich industry would be beneficial, but isn't essential. The business is more interested in strong Product judgement and transferable experience than restricting the search to one sector.
  • An interest in how AI is changing Product Management and product development will also be valuable, with AI already being used within the team's ways of working. PM_SPM B2B dent crowd PDF

This role offers considerable autonomy and flexibility, but with that comes accountability for delivering results. If you're looking for a strictly traditional 9-5 environment, it may not be the right fit.

Please note: As Solis Recruitment is conducting this assignment on a retained basis, two professional references will form part of the recruitment process.

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this role.
