Job Description

Business Development Executive (Injection Moulding and Tooling)
Our client is a growing UK manufacturer and is looking for an ambitious, commercially sharp Business Development Manager to help drive the next stage of its development.
This is not a sit-back-and-wait-for-the-phone-to-ring role. We are looking for someone who knows how to spot opportunities, open doors and turn technically demanding enquiries into profitable, long-term partnerships. Our client does not simply manufacture components. It helps customers solve problems, develop products and bring ideas to life.
With manufacturing facilities in Birmingham and Telford, our client provides:
- Injection moulding
- Tooling
- Assembly
- Added-value manufacturing services
It supports customers across the automotive, industrial, consumer and specialist manufacturing sectors, and is now ready for the next stage of its growth.
What's in it for you?
- Salary of 48,000 to 55,000, depending on experience
- Commission
- Company car
- 28 days' annual leave, including bank holidays
- Full-time, permanent position
Job Purpose
You will take the lead in finding and developing new business, building relationships with key decision-makers and managing opportunities from the first conversation through to quotation and contract award.
You will also:
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
- Develop new and existing customer relationships
- Identify opportunities for additional work
- Understand customers' technical and commercial requirements
- Support quotations for moulding, tooling and assembly projects
- Attend customer meetings, site visits, exhibitions and industry events
- Work with commercial, operational and leadership teams to deliver the growth strategy
You will be a great fit if you have:
- B2B business development or technical sales experience within plastics, injection moulding, automotive, engineering or manufacturing
- A proven record of winning new business
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- The ability to understand technical drawings and manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The drive to create opportunities, not simply manage existing accounts
Experience in injection moulding would be a major advantage, but strong candidates from related manufacturing and engineering sectors are also encouraged to apply.
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious UK manufacturing business with genuine capability, available capacity and exciting plans for continued growth.
