Job Description
We are working with an award‑winning, £5m turnover, 35‑staff technology business based in Surrey, established in the Healthcare, Housing and Local Government space. The business wants to grow significantly and is targeting an IPO or sale in 4–5 years.
The Chairman is seeking an experienced Non‑Executive Director – a “pluralist” from a software/tech background – with deep knowledge of the NHS, social housing and local authority sectors and contacts to match.
The Role
Working closely with the Chairman and board (circa 1 day per month plus some ad hoc strategy sessions), you will:
- Advise on operational and growth strategy, with a focus on the NHS, social housing and local government markets.
- Use your sector contacts to support business development, partnerships and strategic opportunities.
- Help define good governance and compliance for a software business operating in regulated public‑sector environments.
- Identify future opportunities and challenges and guide the organisation through its next phase of evolution.
The Person
You will have:
- Deep, hands‑on knowledge in at least one of - the NHS, social housing and local authority sectors – how they buy, key decision‑makers, procurement frameworks and regulatory pressures.
- A strong, active network of contacts in the above sectors, with a track record of using that network to create commercial value.
- A C/D background in the tech - that can either be a software company that supplies the sectors above or coming from those sectors.
- Ideally current/previous NED/advisory role experience in software, and/or the sectors above (“pluralist”).
The role will commit to circa 15 days’ work per annum (board meetings plus ad hoc strategy sessions) and be paid circa £20–25k per annum.
