Overview:
- This position will be remote.
- The applicant will join a team of highly motivated Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineers in the design, development, test, implementation and operation of spacecraft GNC systems for Low Earth Orbit space missions.
- We seek applicants who will fit well in this dynamic team while designing challenging GNC systems and developing GNC technologies crucial to space exploration.
The applicant will be technically involved in various stages in the life cycle of the project including:
- Mission design & architecture trades
- System design & requirement analyses
- Navigation algorithms and software development
- Navigation system integration & test
- Mission operation support, flight data analysis
The applicant should have strong domain experience in navigation for space systems. With specialties in one or more of the following:
- Linear covariance analysis
- Sensor characterization and performance analysis with a focus on GPS and LiDAR sensors
- Fault detection, isolation, and recovery of navigation sensors
- Absolute and relative navigation using a variety of sensors
- Mission operations support, on-orbit flight analysis
Qualifications should include:
- MS degree in a relevant technical field of study, plus at least 4 years applicable experience or a PhD degree in a relevant technical field of study.
- Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.
- Experience with FSW development and test - preferably in graphical development environments.
- Experience with ground operations support software development and test
