Technical Business Systems Analyst
Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Business Systems Analyst with strong experience in systems analysis, technical documentation, data mapping, SQL, and API integrations. This role will work closely with architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and system documentation.
Insurance industry experience is highly preferred. Experience with Guidewire or EIS is a plus but not required.
Must Haves
- Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, or former Developer in an analysis-focused role
- Hands-on experience creating and interpreting Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs)
- Strong data mapping experience across applications, interfaces, and data sources
- Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting
- Experience analyzing and documenting APIs, integrations, and interface contracts
- Strong technical documentation skills, including functional/technical requirements, system flows, integration documentation, and technical artifacts
- Ability to clearly explain how and when technical artifacts are created and used throughout the SDLC
- Experience working closely with architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders
- Strong understanding of systems analysis and application/data flows
Preferred
- Insurance industry experience, particularly Property & Casualty or insurance systems
- Previous software development experience
- Guidewire or EIS experience
- Experience working with complex enterprise application integrations
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements.
- Create DFDs, data mappings, system flows, API/integration documentation, and other technical artifacts.
- Analyze data and application interactions using SQL and systems analysis techniques.
- Partner with architects and developers to translate business requirements into technically actionable specifications.
- Work with QA teams to ensure requirements, integrations, and data mappings are properly understood and validated.
- Identify documentation gaps and help improve the team's overall technical documentation standards.
- Support analysis and troubleshooting across interconnected enterprise systems.
