Job Title: Financial Technology Business Analyst Location: 1633 Broadway and 49th Street in NYC (people from NJ can commute)

Work Mode: 3 days in office, Hybride

Role
The ISG Trade Surveillance group is responsible for the prevention and investigation of abusive, manipulative, or illegal trading practices in the securities markets that are either customer or firm initiated. This group identifies patterns of trading behavior across multiple asset classes that may be an indication of market manipulation before these can compromise the firm s reputation.
The ideal candidate for this role blends a technical skillset with strong communication skills.

What You ll Do
Lead end to end business analysis efforts for complex, data intensive technology initiatives
Partner with business stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and detailed functional requirements
Build trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholders; manage expectations and delivery outcomes
Develop prototypes, analytical models, and proof of concepts to support business decision making Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases Apply AI-assisted analysis to code repositories, Jira/Confluence content, test evidence, and business documentation to identify impacts, gaps, dependencies, and traceability, with appropriate human review and governance controls
Collaborate with internal and external data providers to ensure surveillance and model requirements are met
Work closely with engineering teams to support solution design and technical specifications
Lead and manage QA activities, including automated test case creation, planning and execution
Perform independent validation with a strong focus on client outcomes, controls, and regulatory considerations
Support ongoing enhancements, user feedback, and issue investigation
Promote responsible GenAI adoption across BA/PM workflows by sharing reusable prompts, patterns, accelerators, and lessons learned with the broader team

What We re Looking For Required Qualifications 5+ years of total experience combining Business Analysis, Project Management, and hands-on software delivery experience within financial services or financial technology. Strong data analysis skills, including hands-on experience with SQL
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
The candidate should be capable of understanding and solving highly complex problems, have excellent communication skills and have financial services experience, preferably in the areas of investment banking and trading Solid understanding of Capital Markets, preferably in Sales & Trading or Investment Banking Experience working with trade data, position data, and reference data Knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
Experience delivering medium to large scale technology or data programs
Practical experience using GenAI tools in BA/PM workflows, including requirements drafting, Jira story creation, acceptance criteria generation, meeting summarization, documentation review, impact analysis, test case generation, and stakeholder-ready reporting Experience in Trade Surveillance or market abuse monitoring Experience using GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Rovo, Claude, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Jira/Confluence AI capabilities, or similar platforms to analyze technical documentation, code repositories, Jira delivery hierarchies, Confluence knowledge bases, meeting notes, and test evidence to produce actionable BA/PM insights Experience creating reusable prompts, lightweight agents, or AI-assisted workflows that improve requirements quality, delivery governance, QA efficiency, or executive reporting Background working in highly regulated, risk focused environments
