Role: SDET Consultant (Remote & C2H)

Duration: 9-12+ Months (C2H)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a remote contract-to-hire opportunity with a Major Financial Institution.

In this role, you will lead test automation efforts while partnering with manual QA teams to accelerate their transition to automation. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable test frameworks, leverage AI-powered testing solutions, and drive quality engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop automation standards, reusable components, and testing strategies to improve coverage and efficiency
  • Utilize AI/Agent-based testing tools and frameworks to optimize test creation, execution, and maintenance
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to ensure quality is built into the development process
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and or Selenium
  • Create and execute automated UI, API, integration, and regression test suites
  • Mentor and train manual testers on automation tools, frameworks, and quality engineering best practices
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and drive defect resolution
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated testing into deployment workflows
  • Promote a quality-first culture and continuous improvement across engineering teams

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of QA Automation or SDET experience
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable automation frameworks from the ground up
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Python
  • Experience mentoring or training manual testers in automation practices
  • Knowledge of AI/Agentic testing tools and intelligent test automation approaches
  • Experience with API testing tools and frameworks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Desired skills:

  • Experience within financial services or other regulated industries
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience with performance testing and test data management
  • Relevant testing certifications (ISTQB, SAFe, or similar)
