The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment, such as hostlers, top loaders, side loaders, and cranes, to safely and efficiently move shipping containers within an intermodal yard.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring timely and accurate handling.
• Drive hostlers to precisely position containers and chassis throughout the yard.
• Perform essential daily inspections of equipment to ensure optimal safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily operational tasks and container moves.
• Maintain a secure and organized work environment by adhering to all established safety protocols and procedures.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment or machinery in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• A strong dedication to safety and a keen attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing ladders/stairs, while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
