Role: Right of Way Permit Coordinator II
Location: Remote, but must live in the Denver, CO area.
Rate: $26/hr W2
Key Responsibilities
Right of Way Permitting & Coordination
- Prepare, submit, and manage Right of Way permit applications across multiple jurisdictions (city, county, state, DOT).
- Ensure all permit packages meet regulatory requirements, including traffic control plans, engineering drawings, and supporting documentation.
- Track permit lifecycle from submission through approval, including revisions, extensions, and closeouts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for permitting agencies, responding to comments, corrections, and requests for additional information.
- Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal ROW regulations and ensure compliance throughout the permitting process.
Project Tracking & Data Management
- Track permitting milestones across multiple telecommunications projects, ensuring status data is accurate, complete, and current.
- Maintain data integrity for forecasted and actual permit dates, identifying discrepancies and driving corrective actions.
- Update and manage permit tracking systems and project management tools to reflect real-time status and progress.
- Validate schedules and dependencies related to permitting activities.
Project Updates & Validation
- Review and validate permit-related updates submitted by internal teams and external vendors for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure clear ownership of permitting tasks and deliverables is defined and communicated.
- Proactively identify risks, delays, or gaps in permitting timelines and escalate as needed.
- Monitor jurisdictional turnaround times and adjust forecasts accordingly.
Communication & Accountability
- Act as a central point of coordination for permitting-related communications across internal teams, vendors, and agencies.
- Prepare and distribute permit status reports, dashboards, and milestone summaries to stakeholders.
- Drive accountability for timely submission of permit packages, responses to comments, and adherence to schedules.
- Provide regular updates on permit risks, constraints, and impacts to project timelines.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with engineering, construction, project management, and vendor partners to align on permit requirements and timelines.
- Support project managers by providing accurate permitting data and insights to inform decision-making.
- Facilitate resolution of permitting issues, conflicts, or delays with jurisdictions and internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- 3 5+ years of experience in right-of-way permitting, utility coordination, telecommunications deployment, or related infrastructure roles.
- Proven experience managing ROW permit applications across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of permitting processes, regulations, and approval workflows.
- Experience tracking milestone-driven projects and maintaining accurate permit data.
- Proficiency with project management and tracking tools (e.g., Excel, Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, SalesForce or similar systems).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, site plans, and traffic control plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting fiber, wireless, or broadband infrastructure deployments.
- Familiarity with telecom lifecycle milestones (design, permitting, construction, turn-up).
- Knowledge of DOT standards and municipal permitting requirements.
- Experience working with GIS or permitting management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and inconsistencies in permit data and timelines.
