Mechanical Engineer | Portsmouth, United Kingdom | Hybrid | £42,000

The Role

  • Provide mechanical engineering support across a variety of platform systems, equipment, and critical marine services.
  • Contribute engineering input to multiple projects, including complex platforms and international naval programmes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to define and manage platform system requirements.
  • Maintain system design integrity across different engineering contexts, classes, and programme deployments.
  • Support investigations, impact assessments, and integration analyses for informed technical decision-making.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient implementation of design changes while upholding configuration control and system integration.

What You'll Need

  • Broad knowledge of complex platform systems within UK and international markets.
  • Good understanding of applicable industry standards and governance frameworks such as CSM and LCM.
  • Ability to apply mechanical engineering knowledge quickly and confidently to diverse platform systems, sub-systems, and equipment.
  • Formal mechanical engineering qualifications.
  • Experience working within a Technical Authority (TA) service hub environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with asset management principles within naval support programmes.
