Job Description

Job Title: PLC Programmer

Location: Boston, Connecticut - Onsite

Mode of Hire: Contract

Job Description:

Controls Programmer:

Scope: Provide controls programming and commissioning support for custom industrial machinery, including new machine development, customer orders, retrofits, and field service projects.

Must have experience:
5+ years Industrial Controls Programming experience
PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
HMI development and operator interface design
Experience with machine automation, motion control, and safety systems
Industrial networking including Ethernet/IP and Profinet
ETO environment experience

Preferred Experience:
Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View)
Siemens S7, TIA Portal, and WinCC
Servo motion control, VFDs, and machine safety systems
Plastics extrusion or converting equipment
FAT, SAT, and customer site commissioning

Responsibilities:
Develop and modify PLC, HMI, and motion control programs
Configure and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, industrial networks, and safety systems
Create and maintain controls documentation, I/O lists, and software revision records
Support machine startup, FAT, SAT, and commissioning
Collaborate cross-functionally and troubleshoot controls issues
