Java Developer – Order Management System (OMS)

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Order Management Systems (OMS) to design, develop, and support scalable retail and omnichannel applications.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with end-to-end order lifecycle management, inventory availability, fulfillment orchestration, enterprise integrations, and event-driven architecture. Experience with Blue Yonder OMS is preferred.

Key Technical & Functional Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Order Management Systems (OMS), including order capture, processing, orchestration, inventory management, fulfillment, cancellations, returns, and exchanges.
• Experience with Blue Yonder OMS or comparable enterprise OMS platforms; Blue Yonder experience is preferred.
• Good understanding of key OMS fulfillment capabilities and workflows, including Ship-to-Home (STH), Ship-from-Store (SFS), Buy Online Pick Up in Store (BOPIS), Buy Online Return in Store (BORIS), Third-Party Logistics (3PL), and Drop Shipping.
• Strong understanding of inventory workflows, real-time inventory availability, Available-to-Promise (ATP), inventory synchronization, and publishing inventory availability to eCommerce, social commerce, POS, and other sales channels.
• Experience integrating OMS with eCommerce platforms, POS, payment gateways, shipping carriers, warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP, and inventory systems.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven integrations, error handling, retry mechanisms, and data reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including database design, query optimization, and transaction management.
• Good understanding of distributed caching mechanisms, such as Spring Cache, EhCache, and Redis.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including API Gateway, serverless functions, message brokers, EventBridge/Event Bus, Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent services.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native application development.
• Strong retail domain knowledge, particularly in omnichannel commerce, store operations, inventory, order fulfillment, and returns management.
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, JIRA, Git, and collaborative software development practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex order, inventory, and integration issues across distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Blue Yonder OMS implementation, customization, integration, or support.
• Experience building and supporting high-volume retail and eCommerce applications.
• Experience with Shopify POS, FDM4 ERP/WMS, or comparable retail enterprise platforms.
• Experience with real-time inventory synchronization and distributed order management across multiple fulfillment locations.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications during peak retail periods.
