IT Security Engineer | Huntingdon, United Kingdom | Hybrid | £47,600.00 - £61,000.00 This employer is a globally recognised technology and science leader, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions for government and commercial clients. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Security Engineer to join their team, contributing to critical national security initiatives. The Role • Provide cybersecurity engineering services for classified and unclassified computer systems. • Develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges and maintain systems at required security postures. • Work with security monitoring teams to ensure effective log forwarding to SIEM capabilities. • Collaborate to develop new policies, design processes, and procedures, and create technical designs aligned with customer needs. • Assess system vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation strategies, and validate/test security products and systems. • Maintain and support security enforcing functions. What You'll Need • Experience working in MOD or Home Office project environments. • Strong knowledge of network and system security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, micro-segmentation, and host security. • Hands-on experience with security products such as Trellix, Ivanti, ClearSwift, and Yubikey. • Expertise in identity and access management (IAM), including RBAC, ABAC, JWT, and cookie-based authentication. • Experience in incident detection and response within MOD environments. • Understanding of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25).
