Senior Power BI Developer

Location: Tallahassee, FL
Duration: 10/30/2026 – 08/31/2027

Our client is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to design, develop, secure, and optimize enterprise-scale analytics solutions using Power BI and Azure Synapse Analytics. The role will focus on semantic modeling, DAX, reporting, governance, security, performance optimization, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities:

• Design enterprise star-schema/tabular models and semantic datasets.
• Develop advanced DAX, Power Query/M, SQL, KPIs, and reusable measures.
• Build interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and Paginated Reports.
• Implement RLS, OLS, workspace security, and governance.
• Optimize models using Incremental Refresh, Composite Models, and Aggregations.
• Support Import, DirectQuery, and Direct Lake architectures.
• Use Power BI Deployment Pipelines and Azure DevOps for CI/CD and DEV/PROD promotion.
• Work with Azure Synapse, Microsoft Purview, Key Vault, and service principals.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Governance, InfoSec, PMO, and business stakeholders.
• Maintain technical documentation, data lineage, security matrices, and SOPs.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years BI/Analytics experience with 6+ years enterprise Power BI.
• Expert DAX, Power Query/M, SQL, and tabular modeling.
• Strong experience with RLS/OLS, Power BI governance, PremiumC environments.
• Hands-on Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure DevOps experience.
• Experience with Deployment Pipelines, CI/CD, performance tuning, and data governance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
