Project Manager IV – Banking Technology

Location: Morristown, NJ – Fully Onsite
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
Work Arrangement: 5 days onsite is non-negotiable

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager IV to manage and support technology projects involving the implementation, integration, and upgrade of vendor technology solutions within a banking environment. The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects across the portfolio, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget while managing stakeholders, vendors, risks, resources, and project communications.

The ideal candidate will have 7–10+ years of project management/PMO experience, preferably within banking or financial services, with strong experience across infrastructure, SDLC, technology implementations, and enterprise project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple small, medium, and large-scale projects across the technology portfolio.

• Lead all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, budgeting, resource management, stakeholder management, and project delivery.

• Develop and maintain project artifacts throughout the lifecycle, including business cases, financial analyses, risk registers, test plans, change requests, status reports, and lessons learned.

• Translate high-level business requirements into actionable project plans, estimates, milestones, and technology solutions.

• Coordinate with Technology, Business, Operations, Risk, Audit, Finance, and other functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

• Partner with third-party vendors, application support teams, and internal technology teams.

• Support projects through the full SDLC, including analysis, development, testing, UAT, implementation, and closure.

• Ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technology solutions and delivered as expected.

• Communicate project status, milestones, risks, issues, and delivery performance to senior stakeholders.

• Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation and resolution plans.

• Support enterprise portfolio reporting, including schedule and budget variances.

• Develop portfolio-level status reports and provide prioritized project updates to senior management.

• Assist with resource allocation and capacity planning across the project portfolio.

• Monitor project interdependencies, resource constraints, and emerging technical or business challenges.

• Support adherence to established PMO project management methodologies, processes, and performance standards.

• Contribute to improving the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of project delivery across the ePMO organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

• 7–10+ years of progressive project management / PMO experience with a consistent track record of project delivery.

• Strong experience managing multiple concurrent projects.

• Experience with technology implementation, integration, upgrades, or vendor technology solutions.

• Strong understanding of SDLC and technology project delivery.

• Experience with project planning, budgeting, resource management, risk/issue management, change management, and stakeholder management.

• Strong vendor management experience.

• Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple disciplines and organizational levels.

• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• Banking or financial services experience strongly preferred.

• Experience working with Core Banking, Investment Operations, Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, Legal, or Credit functions.

• Experience within an ePMO / Enterprise PMO environment.

• Infrastructure project experience.

• Experience with cloud migration projects.

• Content management or document management experience.

• Experience with legal technology/search initiatives.

• Graduate degree preferred.

• Project management certifications are not required.

Work Environment & Additional Requirements

• Fully onsite in Morristown, NJ – 5 days per week.

• 40 hours per week.

• This is not strictly a 9-to-5 position. Candidates must be willing to work overtime when project requirements demand it.

• Occasional after-hours support may be required for go-live events and production activities.

• No direct reports; the project team may include Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Document Management professionals.

• Interview process may include 1–2 panel interviews, with an in-person interview preferred.
