Regional Service Manager

This is an onsite leadership role at your assigned home location, with travel to support regional shops.

A strong maintenance operation starts with capable leaders, consistent standards, and someone who follows through.

TCI Transportation is looking for a hands-on Regional Service Manager to lead shop performance and employee development across an assigned geographic region. You’ll support Service Managers, Shop Supervisors, Service Writers, and Technicians, helping each location deliver dependable service while meeting financial, productivity, and compliance goals.

This is more than reviewing reports. You’ll coach leaders, identify what’s holding a shop back, implement improvements, and step in to manage an assigned shop when a leadership vacancy requires it.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

👥 Build Strong Shop Teams
Recruit, interview, onboard, and train Service Managers who reflect TCI’s core values. Coach and develop employees across your region, provide meaningful performance feedback, and complete annual reviews.

🔧 Improve Shop Operations
Create, document, and implement shop improvements. Ensure each location follows established industry and TCI best practices, and support Service Managers in turning goals into consistent daily execution.

🛡️ Keep Fleet Compliance on Track
Maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal DOT requirements. Oversee preventive maintenance, California BIT inspections, and applicable opacity requirements across your assigned fleet.

💰 Manage Costs & Financial Performance
Use branch profit-and-loss statements and shop scorecards to monitor parts, tires, labor, equipment assignments, and outside repair expenses. Prepare for monthly budget reviews, present results, and develop corrective plans for underperforming areas.

📊 Turn Performance Data Into Action
Manage weekly shop goals for productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, overtime, and rebilling. Identify performance gaps early and work with shop leadership to address them.

💻 Strengthen Systems & Process Accountability
Ensure technicians use Karmak Fusion daily and code their time accurately. Reinforce effective use of Coupa for purchasing, financial processes, and timely company credit card reconciliation. Coordinate with the warranty team to ensure covered repairs follow the warranty process.

🤝 Deliver Dependable Customer Service
Provide responsive support to internal and external customers. Work directly with shop leaders, employees, and vendors to address needs and keep commitments.

📋 Lead with Clear Priorities
Use the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) in day-to-day management. Lead weekly L10 meetings, establish quarterly Rocks with milestones, and follow through on regional initiatives and projects.

📈 What Success Looks Like

You’ll help your shops consistently achieve clear weekly performance standards:

• 100% compliance with preventive maintenance, BIT, and applicable opacity requirements.

• At least 90% productivity and 95% efficiency.

• 100% daily technician use of Karmak Fusion, with accurate labor coding.

• Overtime at or below 15%, in alignment with company goals.

• Achievement of branch goals for shop availability, rebilling, and expense management.

• Strong administrative and organizational skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and leadership.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and the ability to use required shop and financial systems, including Karmak Fusion and Coupa.

• Professional ethics, confidentiality, and sound independent judgment.

• Flexibility and a willingness to learn new systems, processes, and leadership practices.

• A valid driver’s license in your state of residence.

📍 Work & Travel Expectations

This position requires onsite attendance at your assigned home location when not traveling for business, along with travel of up to 25% to support branches, meet with business partners, and attend relevant conferences.

You must be available to respond to after-hours inquiries and emergencies, with flexibility for night, weekend, and holiday work as needed. The role includes office work, walking shop facilities, and physical activity around equipment. Reasonable accommodations are available for essential job functions.
