Job Description

Senior IBM ODM & BAW Developer

Role Purpose

The Senior IBM ODM & BAW Developer isresponsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing businessprocess workflows and business rules using IBM Business Automation Workflow(BAW) and IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM). The role works closely withBusiness Analysts, Solution Architects, Product Owners, and delivery teams toautomate business processes, implement decision services, and supportend-to-end solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

IBM BAW Development

• Design, develop, configure, and deploy business processworkflows using IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).
  
• Develop process applications, services, coaches, integrations,and user interfaces to support business requirements.
  
• Configure workflow orchestration, task management, escalations,notifications, and business events.
  
• Integrate BAW solutions with internal and external systemsusing APIs, web services, and messaging frameworks.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve workflow performance, deployment, andintegration issues.
  

IBM ODM Development

• Design, develop, and maintain business rules and decisionservices using IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM).
  
• Translate business policies and regulatory requirements intoexecutable business rules.
  
• Manage rule sets, decision tables, rule flows, and rulegovernance processes.
  
• Support versioning, testing, deployment, and ongoingmaintenance of business rules.
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate decisionlogic and rule outcomes.
  

Solution Delivery

• Participate in requirements workshops and technical designsessions.
  
• Produce technical specifications, solution designs, andimplementation documentation.
  
• Support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptancetesting (UAT), and production deployments.
  
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to developmentstandards and best practices.
  
• Contribute to DevOps, CI/CD, and release management activities.
  

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Business Analysts and Product Owners to understandbusiness processes and decision requirements.
  
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure alignment withenterprise architecture standards.
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developersand project team members.
  
• Support business users during testing and post-implementationactivities.
  
• 7+ years of software development experience, includingsignificant experience with IBM BAW/BPM and IBM ODM.
  
• Strong experience designing and implementing complex workflowsolutions using IBM BAW.
  
• Strong experience developing decision services and businessrules using IBM ODM.
  
• Experience integrating enterprise applications using REST APIs,SOAP services, MQ, JMS, and other integration technologies.
  
• Strong understanding of BPM, workflow orchestration, casemanagement, and business rule management concepts.
  
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation.
  
• Experience with government, regulatory, licensing, compliance,or customer service platforms.
  
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
  
• Knowledge of microservices, cloud-native architectures, andevent-driven integration patterns.
  
• Understanding of business process modelling using BPMN.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science,Engineering, or related discipline.
  
• Relevant enterprise application development certifications willbe highly regarded.
  
• IBM BAW process applications and workflow solutions.
  
• IBM ODM decision services, rule sets, and decision tables.
  
• Technical design and deployment documentation.
  
• Automated business processes aligned to business and regulatoryrequirements.
  
• Production-ready solutions meeting performance, security, andoperational standards.
