The Role

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of renewal accounts, addressing rating and adjustment inquiries.
  • Develop new business opportunities, ensuring positive outcomes for clients, brokers, and insurers.
  • Evaluate risks, handle technical claims, and liaise with brokers, insurers, and internal teams.
  • Review and approve referrals from junior underwriters.
  • Operate within delegated underwriting authority.
  • Mentor and train junior team members, sharing expertise and fostering growth.

What You'll Need

  • CII/Dip CII qualification or equivalent, with A-Level education or similar.
  • Proven underwriting experience, including servicing accounts and handling technical claim queries.
  • Strong understanding of risk exposure and ability to determine acceptance criteria in complex situations.
  • Proactive communication, strong negotiation skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience planning client renewals and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
