Title: QA Automation Lead
Location: LATAM Remote
Duration: 6+ month contract
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

QA Automation Lead
Overview

We're looking for an experienced QA Lead to oversee a team of five QA engineers while remaining hands-on with testing efforts. This person should be a strong technical leader who can mentor others, improve QA processes, and ensure high-quality software delivery in a fast-paced Agile environment.

The ideal candidate has deep experience across both manual and automated testing, is an expert in Playwright and Tosca, and leads by example. Strong communication, sound judgment, and the maturity to guide a team are just as important as technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of 5 QA engineers
  • Review work, provide feedback, and help drive the team's overall quality
  • Design, execute, and maintain both manual and automated test cases
  • Build and maintain automation using Playwright and Tosca
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and database testing
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC
  • Participate in test planning, estimation, and release activities
  • Identify risks, improve testing processes, and help drive QA best practices
  • Troubleshoot defects and work with development teams through resolution
  • Balance hands-on testing with leadership responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading or mentoring QA teams
  • Strong background in both manual and automated software testing
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright
  • Hands-on experience with Tosca
  • Experience testing REST APIs and backend services
  • Experience validating databases using SQL
  • Strong understanding of Agile software development
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, remove blockers, and keep testing efforts moving forward
  • Mature, professional leadership style with the ability to coach and develop team members

Preferred

  • Experience working in SaaS environments
  • Experience working with distributed or remote teams
