Our team comes from Google DeepMind, Meta, and Cruise, and we're backed by CRV, First Round, and other leading investors.
Position Overview
As a Robot Safety Operator at Dyna Robotics, you will ensure the safe and reliable operation of our robotic systems during live testing and deployment at client sites. You will play a critical role in maintaining safety standards, protecting personnel and hardware, and supporting experimental operations. You will work closely with our engineering and research teams to monitor, evaluate, and refine robot behavior in real-world environments.
This role is primarily on-site at a client location in San Jose, CA. We maintain a high bar for talent and look for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, hands-on environments.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control robotic systems to ensure adherence to safety protocols
Intervene in real time when unsafe behavior or unexpected events occur (e.g., activate emergency stop or perform recovery)
Conduct pre-task safety inspections and maintain secure testing environments
Record safety events and performance data to support continuous improvement
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
Ability to stand and move for extended periods
Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently with minimal supervision
Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with robotic systems, automation, or lab safety operations
Familiarity with industrial or collaborative robot safety standards (e.g., ISO 10218, RIA, ISO/TS 15066)
Experience with safety equipment such as interlocks, E-stops, or sensors
Basic familiarity with computer software interfaces and tools (e.g., command line, bash, Linux OS)
At Dyna Robotics, we build technology for the real world, which requires a team as diverse as the environments our robots inhabit. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to technical rigor and mutual respect.
Don’t let a checklist stop you. Data shows that underrepresented groups often only apply if they meet 100% of the criteria. We value problem-solving and grit over keyword matching. If you’re passionate about robotics, no matter your discipline, we want to hear from you, even if you don't check every box.
