Quality Engineer

The Quality/Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing the final test department by executing, analyzing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical test processes for medium and high-voltage power cables. This role ensures products meet applicable standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements through rigorous testing, data analysis, and process control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Supervise Final Test operators and provide hands-on technical support.

-Perform electrical testing on medium- and high-voltage cables, including PD, AC Withstand, insulation resistance, and continuity testing.

-Perform mechanical and physical testing, including tensile, elongation, and dimensional checks.

-Analyze test results, identify problems or trends, and complete certified test reports.

-Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain high-voltage testing equipment.

-Support quality investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and customer inspections.

-Work with engineering and production teams to improve testing processes, accuracy, efficiency, and overall product quality.

REQUIREMENTS:

-1–3 years of experience in cable manufacturing, high-voltage testing, or a related field.

-Hands-on experience with MV/HV cable testing, preferably PD and AC Withstand.

-Understanding of electrical testing principles and cable insulation systems such as XLPE and EPR.

-Experience with high-voltage test equipment and safety procedures.

-Ability to read and understand technical specifications and industry standards.

-Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED:

-AS/BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

-Experience with Partial Discharge (PD) and AC Withstand testing.

-Familiarity with UL 1072, ANSI/ICEA, and AEIC CS8 standards.

-Experience with ISO 9001 or quality systems.

-Experience troubleshooting and maintaining high-voltage test equipment.

-Experience with data analysis, SPC, or statistical tools.

-Experience supervising or leading test/production operators.
