Structural Engineering Professional

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional for a Remote position with a Global Professional Services Firm located in the Northwest US Region. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will be an integral member of the design team, responsible for performing a significant portion of the structural analysis and design for various projects. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with Structural Leads, Engineers, Designers, and other disciplines to develop design concepts and ensure structural requirements are clearly communicated on design documents.

Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
• Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem-solving skills
• Possess knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic), including ability to apply required provisions of the building code
• Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control, including checking your own work and the calculations of other engineers
• Take responsibility for managing workload, making and keeping commitments, and taking full ownership of assigned work
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and/or mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers
• Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline and embrace emerging technologies

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer License (PE/PEng)
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering
• Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
• Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Home location must be in the USA Northwest Region (AK, ID, MT, OR, WA, WY) or Canada
• Ability to provide internet service as required at home to effectively meet project performance requirements

Desired skills:

• MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering
• Experience in semi-conductor industrial or general industrial facilities
• Experience leading small teams

Pay range: up to $64.00 per hour
